Implantology

Implant Dentistry is the future, today. With advanced techniques, lost teeth may be replaced with fixed (non-removable) implant supported crowns or dentures. Dental implants are titanium cylinder devices placed into the jaw bone which acts as an anchor for a false tooth or a set of false teeth. Implants, once biologically “bonded” (osseointegrated) to the bone, allow for a flawlessly natural look and stable feeling.

Anyone in reasonable health, who wants to replace missing teeth are candidates for dental implants. Even completely edentulous patients (people missing all their teeth) are also candidates. There must be sufficient bone in the area of the missing teeth to provide for the anchorage of the implants. If a patient does not have enough bone to support a dental implant, bone grafts can be placed in certain circumstances. Make sure to ask about dental implants at your visit.
