Don’t be scared or embarrassed to go to the dentist! Your dental care providers aren’t here to judge you, we’re here to help you. Your teeth are never too far gone to be fixed. Dental professionals will always have a way to give you a healthier life and a better smile without passing judgment, and it doesn’t even have to hurt.

Your Dental Health is Too Important to Ignore

Has it been a long time since your last checkup? That’s even more reason to schedule one as soon as possible! Problems with teeth like cavities won’t resolve themselves. They only grow, get worse over time, and cause more problems as they progress. A simple cavity that can be fixed in a single appointment can, if not addressed, decay a tooth to the point that the only way to save it is with a much more invasive and time-consuming root canal procedure. You can always prevent oral health problems from getting out of control by being proactive with regular dental checkups.

Don’t Assume Dental Work Hurts

Don’t worry about the drills and needles! Many people are afraid of going to the dentist for even the most minor reasons. A simple cavity filling is enough to send some into a full panic. It doesn’t have to be scary! Most dental work is almost pain-free with the use of anesthetics, and those little tools really aren’t as frightening as you might think.

There are plenty of options for pain management during dental procedures. Anesthetics such as lidocaine gel, injections, or nitrous oxide gas make sure your appointment is as painless as possible. Total sedation is used only when necessary for complex procedures or surgeries.

Patients Who Are Scared To Go To The Dentist Have Options

At Alamont Dental Associates we prefer to use “conscious sedation dentistry”, especially for patients with severe dental anxiety. This is a special kind of anesthesia that causes a state of deep relaxation sometimes bordering on sleep that leaves the patient feeling great during and after the appointment. Sedation dentistry methods include nitrous oxide or simply taking a single pill. The amount of anesthesia given can vary from patient to patient. It’s tailored specifically to each patient for the best results. Recovery is shorter than general anesthesia as well. The side effects of conscious sedation dentistry typically wear off 30-45 minutes after the work is done.

Options for Missing Teeth

Even if your teeth are too decayed to be saved, there are always options to get your dental health back on track. Prosthodontics or dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth. In the most extreme cases you can be even fit with an entirely new set of teeth. Dental implants can be rooted directly into your existing bone structure with titanium anchors. Your new teeth will be as strong as your original teeth ever were!

An Improved Smile is Instant Confidence

Many people who have neglected their dental health may feel ashamed to let a stranger look at their teeth. If you’ve been ashamed to show your smile then now is the perfect time to get it fixed so you can feel good again. Your dentist is not going to judge or shame you if you’re there making steps to improve your dental health!
